Dogs as pets

As you may know already, Dogs make excellent family pets and are a great addition to the family. They are cute to play with fun to watch and always love to please their owners.  As a dog lover myself there are alot of responsbility when it come to bringing in a dog into the picture. Just like humans dogs need food shelter play time love affection and just sometimes a hug or a kiss to show appreciatation. When getting a dog you shall know the basics of what kind of breed fits your lifestyle and of course dogs come in many sizes. Also you need to know from the start that they cost money like having a child puppies need bathroom mats for the floor when potty training and also needs lots of chew toys if you do not wnat your house torn apart. A great idea when deciding of a breed of dog is to find a dog trainer or obedience training that can work with your dog so he is well behaved. Some dog breeds take trainging alot easier then other breeds. A golden retreiver makes a great family pet and are quite easy to train ans as for like a bull terrier that make great family companions and guardians they are lot harder to train. The next step after finding a training course is to get all the supplies your dog will need. If you are getting a dog you will need the follow items

1. potty training floor mats (for puppies
2. food and water bowl
3. crate ( is a neccesary tool to obedience training)
4. quality puppy and or dog food
5. leash and collar
6. flea medication in case of fleas (frontline works best)
7. lots of dog toys ( chew toys especially if your getting a puppy)
8. treats
9. a great treat to buy for your down for a sense of well being is a dog bed
10. Sign up for obedience training

This list has ten items and these are your basic needs for your dog. In a later post I will explain differents types of crates and also what are great dog foods for your dog. When you bring home your dog your best bet is to teach him that his place for space his his crate and let him explore youre house because of new smells and a new environment. Now I have seen lots of dog owners who work crazy work hours that end up getting rid of theirs dogs. Please to me and a dog as favor. A dog is like a child it needs to be feed by you it needs your love and it needs your quality time. If you can give a dog lots of play time and spending time you shall not have a dog. Hope this helps
